Description
Rare Fritz Hansen Danish Club Sofa, 1940s Rare Danish club sofa produced by Fritz Hansen in the 1940s, designed to complement the celebrated Model 1518 chair. Far less commonly found than its matching chair, this sofa is a distinctive example of collectible Danish design. Featuring solid beechwood legs, a generously proportioned seat, and supportive spring construction in both the seat and backrest, it combines lasting comfort with exceptional craftsmanship. The sofa retains its striking red mohair upholstery and remains in immaculate condition for its age. Its history adds to its appeal, having originally formed part of the furnishings at Skovsbo Manor on Funen, Denmark. The manor's contents were auctioned in 2020 when the estate was sold to an heir to the LEGO Group. Increasingly rare, this characterful Fritz Hansen sofa offers a unique opportunity to acquire an exceptional piece of 1940s Scandinavian furniture. Its sculptural presence and rich red upholstery make it a striking focal point in any interior. Period: 1940-1949 Condition: Good. Minor fading. Consistent with age and use. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY
